Other Tinnitus Treatments: Acupuncture, Lipoflavonoids, CBT

Reflexology treatment; alternate tinnitus treaments concept

If your tinnitus doesn't respond to various home remedies or therapies you've been trying, make sure you've considered the ones not always mentioned.

Acupuncture
: Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. Some people with tinnitus have reported improvement in symptoms after undergoing acupuncture.

Lipoflavonoids: Lipoflavonoids are a type of supplement that contains a combination of vitamins and other compounds. Some studies have suggested that lipoflavonoids may help reduce tinnitus symptoms, but more research is needed to confirm this.

Cognitive behavioral therapy: CBT is a type of therapy that helps people change negative thought patterns and behaviors. Some people with tinnitus have found relief from symptoms after undergoing CBT.

Reflexology is another type of alternative therapy for tinnitus. It involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, which are believed to correspond to different parts of the body. Some people with tinnitus have reported improvement in their symptoms after receiving reflexology treatments.

Proponents of reflexology claim that applying pressure to certain points on the feet, hands, or ears can stimulate the corresponding parts of the body and help to reduce tinnitus symptoms by improving circulation and reducing stress. However, it's important to note that there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims.

Can Allergies Cause Tinnitus?

Anything from allergic rhinitis (hay fever) to sinus infections increases the risk of developing tinnitus.  Basically anything that affects the nasal and sinus passages can lead to tinnitus. That's because when allergies affect the nasal passages and sinuses, they can cause inflammation and swelling, leading to congestion and pressure changes in the ear. This pressure change can lead to tinnitus. Allergy meds can be a problem too Tinnitus can also be a side effect of certain medications used to treat allergies, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin. These medications can potentially cause tinnitus as a side effect, especially when taken in high doses. Other causes of tinnitus In addition to allergies, there are several other causes of tinnitus. In some cases, tinnitus can be a symptom of an u...
